此笔海造型规矩，器形硕大，圆口直壁，平底，口底相若。全器里外满施仿哥釉，釉质厚润古朴，开片均匀自然，于穆穆之中透出高贵典雅之气，更是历数百年风霜而精光未泯，自有赵宋一道釉之品格。淡淡的青灰釉上黑、黄色纹片交织，呈现出宋哥窑“金丝铁线”的特征，极富韵律感。明清笔筒为中国古典文房艺术品中极为重要的门类，瓷制笔筒始于明代嘉靖、万历年间并渐趋流行，文人士大夫尤为钟情喜爱笔筒，往往设样定做，风行一时。
