此杯黄玉为质，莹洁剔透，厚润如脂。杯呈椭圆形，敞口，深腹，直壁下敛，圈足。杯身左右两侧刻螭龙一对，螭龙弓身成两耳，上肢伏于杯沿，下身盘绕杯身。螭龙之雕饰，以圆雕及阴刻并用而成，先以圆雕成其形，再阴刻其毛发，麟爪细部，整体雕工灵动自然。
