峨眉山在四川省峨眉山市西南。是中国佛教四大名山之一，为普贤菩萨的道埸。峨眉山有志，始于清初。康熙朝蒋超以胡世安《译峨籁》为依，亲自跋涉考察，披览史籍，终撰成第一部完整的《峨眉山志》。是志分为星野、形胜、寺观、高僧等八卷，全山之地理概况、名胜古迹、人文史料皆一目了然。書名頁題"峨山志書全圖"，序后附整版式十方院图十幅，山水相连，举目纵览宛如峨眉山全景手卷。有配本。
