是书系清代甘肃武威人张澍为补正《四川通志》而编撰的一部地方志书。张澍多年出任四川各地知县，对四川地方史的研究十分关注，并亲自从事四川地方文献的搜集整理工作，将其长期积累的丰富资料加以考订整理，编成《蜀典》。全书包括堪舆、人物、居寓、宦迹、故事、风俗、方言、器物、动植、著作、姓氏11类。《蜀典》对《通志》起到了“纠逻”和“补遗”的作用，具有较高的史料价值。本书序和目录为前人补抄。
