是书为作者完颜麟庆依据自己生平游历名山古迹中的所见所闻而作，既是一部游记，又可作为历史、地理考据之依据。此书道光初刻共两集，初集于道光十九年刊成，附有阮元、祁寯藻、郎葆辰、钟世耀四人之序，二集于道光二十一年刊成，附有金安澜、龚自珍、赵廷熙、释明俭等人序言，卷首收作者39岁、50岁小像各1帧。手书上版，字体秀丽，版刻精雅，传世远较后之刻图本为少。此部原装原函，书品颇佳，更属难得。
