是为拍场所见最为完整的一部《史学述林》，全为五卷，首册目录仅列前三册内容，可知卷四、卷五为随编随印，未列入目录。《史学述林》论及史体、史目、史考、史评、史志、史材、史文及史学发展等内容，是继章学诚《文史通义》之后的又一部综合型史评著作，在从传统史学到现代史学转变中具有重要影响。刘咸炘(1896―1932)，字鉴泉，别号宥斋，四川成都人。著名思想家、国学大师，被陈寅恪赞誉为“四川最有见识的学者”。推十为其书斋名，辑所著称《推十书》。
