是书为胡三省辩史炤《通鉴释文》之误，据胡三省《新注资治通鉴序》“今海陵板本又有温公之子康《释文》，与炤本大同而小异”，故今“辩误”，亦“为公休辨诬”。其辩误体例为：“先举史炤之误，二本与之同者，则分注其下曰同，然后辩其非而归于是；如直音之浅谬，皆略而不录”。此本卷一卷端题“新安吴勉学校正”，其余各卷卷端题“新安吴中珩校正”。惜卷一前六页微损。
