自清初《聊斋志异》刊行后，评点之作辈出，而其中尤为著名的是但明伦之评点本。但评阐发事理，启迪文思，见解独到，"读者无不俯首皈依，几于家有其书矣"。正文与评点分以墨、朱二色，套印上乘，精美悦目。卷前有津门藏书家、刻书家金钺癸未冬和己丑冬所书题识两则，并钤累累藏印，足见爱重。
