清代乾隆时期是中国制瓷技艺的巅峰时期，弘历皇帝嗜古成痴，瓷器制作仿古之风盛行，除大量仿烧前朝名窑外，也盛行仿各种手工艺品。此笔筒造型釉面形态逼真，惟妙惟肖，巧夺天工，器身内外施酱釉为底，竹叶留白装饰，清幽雅致，肌理浑朴自然，颇具质感。由于刻意仿制竹雕笔筒，因此未落款识
