沉香木是在特殊环境和条件下自然凝聚而成的奇木,其“金坚玉润,鹤骨龙筋,膏液内足”,自古以来被列为众香之首,深得古代文人雅士喜爱。此对沉香木雕更是难得一见的佳作,其左右相对,均为人工雕成,大小、造型和细节几乎丝毫无差,令人赞叹不已。两品均为太狮少狮像,即大狮与小狮。大狮后肢坐地,尾巴上翘,上半身高仰,前肢搭在小狮后背上,小狮则矫首看看向大狮,前肢环抱绣球。大狮小狮的五官刻画颇为细腻,双目圆睁,阔口大涨,双耳微摆,颇有慑人之威。身形亦然,鬃毛细密,胸肌密列,四肢雄健,其各处肌肉走向都几乎可辨,似蕴千钧之力。
