这种铜炉是在风磨铜基础上进一步改进原料,经过多次铸炼而成,它拥有细如肌肤的质地与灿烂多变的辉光,故而后代多有仿作。本品香炉带底款“大明宣德年制”正是一件后代仿宣德之作。整器开口大致呈圆角方形,盘口大张,内部空敞,便于使用。口下接直壁,两端双耳冲天,微微内扣,威势赫赫,有扛鼎之姿。外壁空余处还饰乳钉,增强其立体感。至底四角各作一矮足,均匀受力,使其姿态稳健,不惧风雨。
