王鹤亭，男，号桃源笑山人，安徽黟县人，1921年12月出生。1934年曾在江西陶瓷局学艺，拜康达为师。1958年后进景德镇艺术瓷厂画瓷。他从事陶瓷美术创作六十余年，专攻花鸟虫草，尤以画梅见长，兼绘人物。其笔下的梅千姿百态，劲俏挺拔，技法工整，满而不繁。其作品曾作为国家礼品瓷赠送给外国领导人，也多次获奖。其中大型瓷板画“梅花图”获全国工艺美术百花奖金奖。作品曾多次参加国内外展出和展销，深受各界人士喜爱，并被收藏。香港《大公报》、澳门《华侨报》、《新民晚报》 等均有专版介绍。
