光绪银币是由清政府度支部设计和正式铸行的清代标准银币之一。此币正面内圈为楷体“光绪银币”，圈外“丁未”两字，即1907年光绪末年，旁边两条简化版“细龙”，上面携带“寿”字，寓意万寿无疆，乃清末光绪皇家祝寿所用。银币背面中央镌“一两”二字，两侧镌双龙戏珠图案，代表着吉祥喜庆。两条龙的背部与龙腹部分别镌有三团云朵，下端镌海浪图案。光绪银币是中国银本位货币制度的最精美的代表，为了体现满清皇权制度在货币领域的权威，其设计制造者不计成本地进行了精美绝伦的设计，其艺术水准之高。
