《姑苏繁华图》是清代宫廷画家徐扬描绘苏州风物的巨制，原名《盛世滋生图》。徐扬，江苏苏州人，生卒年不详。在乾隆十六年（1751年），徐扬以自作画册进贡，因其画艺受到乾隆赏识，随后被选拔到宫中供职。徐扬选取了苏州城本部的风景入画，展现了从灵岩山起，经木渎镇东行，过横山，渡石湖，历上方山，从太湖北岸介狮颧两山间入姑苏郡城，至虎丘山止的苏州最为繁盛的地带风光。这幅画作不仅描绘了山川、城郭、街巷、桥梁、河道、码头、寺院、庙坛、衙署、民居、店面等场景，还生动地再现了婚娶、宴饮、雅集、授业、科考、出巡、演艺、田作、买卖等社会生活情景。这幅画作不仅具有极高的艺术价值，也是研究当时社会生活和文化史的重要资料。
