杯外壁以斗彩折枝葡萄纹装饰，口部与高足大面积露白，使纹饰更加突出。此种式样的高足杯为明代成化官窑首创，明代人称之为“五彩葡萄撇口扁肚把杯”。在其出现之前，人们一直以为明代宣德官窑高足杯最美，此杯问世后，更受世人喜爱。明末谷泰撰《博物要览》曰：“成窑上品无过五彩葡萄撇口扁肚把杯，式较宣杯妙甚。”
