|注释：|此函写于人物花笺上，内容为杨燮和友人之弟将参加院试之前，请杨燮和点拨文章一事。杨氏在信中尽述其爱才之心，并盛赞友人之弟不拘于时墨风气，望饱读诗书，厚其根砥，并尽快将课文寄赠，以便指点。杨燮和，字春生，又字寄生，绍兴陶堰人，光绪元年选授义乌训导。光绪十年（1884）卒。着有《学圃斋诗集》三卷、《地理要言》一卷。杨燮和为同治六年（1867）举人，当年科举在杭州举行，副主考官为张之洞，当时山阴、会稽两县共34人中举，杨燮和与鲁迅祖父周福清以及周福清内兄山阴人孙琥铭皆同榜。
