錢鏡塘（1910~1983年），浙江海寧人，原名德鑫，字鏡塘，晚號菊隱老人，為吳越王錢鏐之嫡裔。祖父輩均 善丹青翰墨，富書畫收藏，由於家學深厚，教育有方， 錢先生自幼便酷愛丹青之妙，及長，更擅長金石書畫之 鑑藏。無論是其藏品之豐富、之精到，還是其收藏之精 神、之氣節，均為後人稱道。故譽為“今之項墨林、安儀週、龐萊臣”，與滬上另一位大畫家、大收藏家吳湖帆
（1894~1968年）並譽為“鑑定雙璧”
