|端溪石，色紫质坚，细腻莹润，包浆古穆。此砚精雕细琢，可谓鬼斧神工，砚仿古钟形，砚面为淌池式，砚堂与墨池过渡处以高浮雕手法琢刻卧鹿，屈腿跪卧，昂首仰视，温顺恭良，生动可爱。钟为古乐器，能鸣，与为文名世有相合之处，故常见有钟形之砚。此砚文秀雅致，是为书斋之雅玩。配红木砚盒。
