佛经谓观音菩萨有三十三个不同形象的法身，画作观水中月影状的称水月观音，相传，最早绘制水月观音始于唐代。此尊顶戴花冠，外罩兜帽。面形丰圆，额头高广，双目微阖，表情喜悦。上身躯体柔软，呈侧坐姿态。佩戴各种饰物，外着垂领长衫。左手握住右手手腕，自然放于左膝之上，右手捧净瓶。下身着宽松长裙，左腿盘起，右腿屈立，呈现游戏坐姿。整像胎体厚重，镀金绚丽，细部刻画严谨且富有装饰性，造像表现了汉传佛教的内容，但人物开脸为典型清代乾隆时期造像特征，堪称汉藏结合的造像佳作。
