On the mount and with further inscription to label attached to backboard verso. Tending Sheep signed, dated and inscribed 'J Linnell, lower left and inscribed To W. Agnew 1863, lower right and with further inscroption to label attached verso 'Tending Sheep/by/John Linnell/the Property of W Agnew…'
