14K gold, tested. 3 rose-cut diamonds, altogether circa 0.40 carats, 46 small rose-cut diamonds. 1 cabochon-cut turquoise and 49 small pyramid-cut turquoises. 3 white cultured pearl halves, diameter circa 6.2-7 mm, circa 73 seed pearls. Black enamel. 1 tassel drop is missing. Minor nicks to some of the stones. Circa 7.1 x 4.1 cm. Circa 33.15 g. At the World's Fair in London in 1862, first-class Indian jewellery of the highest quality was presented in Europe. Following this the influence of Indian jewellery designs and techniques can be seen within European jewellery designs of this time. The present brooch is a typical example of this development.
