Collection of 11 books from the library of Benjamin Lincoln Lear, the son of George Washington's personal secretary Tobias Lear, all bearing simple "Benjamin Lincoln Lear" bookplates affixed inside, with five signed by him. Includes five leatherbound volumes of Aventuras de Gil Blas de Santillana, published in Madrid in 1805, all signed on the title page with his ownership signature, "B L. Lear"; a leatherbound volume entitled Diccionario Portatil y de Pronunciacion, Frances-Espanol, published in Leon in 1803; and five small vellum-bound volumes of Spanish lectures.
