1st century BC-1st century AD. A bronze harness pendant formed as a hexagonal shield with raised boss and concentric rings, loop to the upper edge. See Feugère, M. The hexagonal shield with bronze or iron umbo was adopted by the Roman military from Gaulish prototypes. Very fine condition. Extremely rare.
