A silver bow brooch with round-section crossbar, deep bow with narrow flange to the outer face pierced with ivy-leaf motifs, foot with chamfered upper edges, hinged pin. 13.6 grams, 54mm (2 1/4"). Property of a North London gentleman; formerly in a German private collection, Munich. The deep bow, flange and foot taken together suggest a boar's head and arched back with bristles. Fine condition.
