A Chinese carved white jade snuff bottle dating from the 18th century. The stopper is carved with green jade to resemble a stem, and the bottle is carved in the shape of a gourd with a butterfly, leaves, and flowers. Dimensions are: 2 3/4 inches tall X 1 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The cork has broken off inside the snuff bottle, but it is in otherwise good condition. Provenance: From Mrs. Rosenfeld in Washington, DC area, collection passed down from her late husband. Held by the family for over 40 years.
