Plates mounted on new tabs, blank portion of plates 68 torn and repaired, a few short marginal tears, some light offsetting and light browning. FIRST EDITION. An atlas with remarkable hand-colored portraits of patients suffering from various diseases. "The patients portrayed suffer from aneurysm of the aorta, asthma, cholera, dysentery, encephalitis, epilepsy, jaundice, hydrocephalus, pleurisy, gonorrhoea, hydrophobia, dropsy, bilious fever, stomach cancer, scorbutus, amaurosis, phthisis, pneumonia crycipleas, rheumatic fever, idiocy, imbecility and other mental debilities such as melancholy, and monomania etc. are depicted" (Garrison-Morton).
