Man's Redemption of Man. London: Constable & Co., 1910. 12mo (141 x 106 mm). Publisher's blue cloth with printed dust jacket. A few tears to dust jacket, with faint stain to rear panel. Provenance: Campbell Howard (pencil inscription).FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING, of an important association copy. Campbell P. Howard was the son of Palmer Howard, who acted as Osler's mentor at McGill. After Palmer and his wife passed, "Marjorie and Campbell Howard found loving substitutes in 'Doccie O' and 'Aunt Grace'" (Bliss, Osler, 340). Osler was Campbell's godfather, who in turn was godfather to Osler's only son Revere. Golden & Roland 996.
