Provenance: Campbell Howard (pencil inscription).FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING, of an important association copy. Campbell P. Howard was the son of Palmer Howard, who acted as Osler's mentor at McGill. After Palmer and his wife passed, "Marjorie and Campbell Howard found loving substitutes in 'Doccie O' and 'Aunt Grace'" (Bliss, Osler, 340).
