It remained unfinished at Osler's death, and Osler requested in his will that it and his other unfinished works not be published. In spite of this, work was prepared for the press by Harvey Cushing, Archibald Malloch and others" (Garrison-Morton 6414). In his letter to Brown, Garrison, who wrote the preface of the book, writes, "...I am glad to know that you have seen the Osler book and that you are pleaser with it.
