Chinese Ming Dynasty Wanli Reign Period blue and white Doucai color character story cartridge. Flattened Rectangular body with prominent boundaries, substantial domed on top, beautifully decorated in Doucai design of various opaque rich tones hand painting depicting several figures in various pursuit within terraced garden landscape, interspersed with auspicious symbols. DouCai means soft colors which fit together which is evident in this harmoniously painted bowl. The artistry is a combination of underglazed blue outlines and enamels added on top of the fired glaze, within the outlines. The underside foot rim left unglazed, displayed a pale-creme with dark-grayish firing spots; while the slightly receded central base remain white under-glazed.The under base bear a reign mark, a six blue under-glazed script characters, enclosed within rectangular frame before floral motif bands, Made in The Years of Wanli Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty. He is the parent to 16 children most of which are adopted from various countries. His worldwide travels have allowed him to enjoy the ability to collect treasures, some of his collection will be sold at auction to help raise funds for his ongoing work in Peru.
