本品面容刻画细腻，作红教本尊胜乐金刚，又称「极乐之轮」。此为藏传佛教金刚乘佛教四大尊佛最常见的一类，本尊胜乐脚踩象征涅盘之黑闇天女及象征轮回之黑陪卢（怖畏王），同时抱明妃金刚亥母，后者腿盘绕本尊腰间。本尊身披虎皮、头戴骷髅冠及人头，两手各持金刚杵及金刚铃，象征悟入空性之顿觉。清朝时期，胜乐金刚在西藏与蒙古受各族崇拜，属藏传佛教中噶举白派。
