Qing Dynasty, of rectangular section, surmounted by naturalistically carved 'Buddha's hand' borne on a leafy gnarled stalk, its 'fingers' extending sinuously and mingling at their tips, incised on one side,the seal face carved with the characters fu gui da cheng (Wealth and prosperity) the stone of a deep honey-yellow tone. Height 1 3/4 in., 4.5 cm. Provenance: John Lee, a dedicated seal collector residing in AtlantaGA, has travelled to many Asian countries since the 60s, where he acquired many exquisite and antique seal chops. Lot 9-12 are four representatives of his exceptional collection.
