Red lacquer stool with chinoiserie and trio of maidens; red lacquered box in the shape of a fish, interior lacquered in black with gold accents on fins; square red lacquer box with cranes and black lacquer interior; brass candlestick with three tiers and 8-character inscription in Japanese kanji. Dimensions are: stool - 12 inches high X 12 1/2 inches diameter. All measurements are approximate. Condition: One of the 5 legs of the stool has sprung from the bottom rim; surface abrasion to stool and some loss to lacquer work; surface wear and light chipping around edges of boxes, and the name H V Brown has been scratched into the bottom of each box; the brass of the candlestick is somewhat dented and misshapen, particularly around base, and there is wear to the surface, as well as the remnants of the last candle.
