19th century Japanese parcel-gilt tsuba, mokko gata shape, likely of sentoku (copper-lead-zinc alloy), with raised flower carving. Unsigned. Total weight: 94.46 g. Dimensions are: 2 5/8 inches long X 2 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Gilt wearing away, unidentified white deposits in creases of carving. Provenance: Southern CA. estate of a retired Airline Stewardess who was flying the Asian routes in the 1960's and 70's where this was purchased.
