Sadao Watanabe (Japanese, 1913-1966) specialized in the Japanese mingei (folk art) style print making. This one is signed and dated 1966 34/50. The paper in momigami (kneaded paper) and the print uses minerals and other natural materials for dyes. Dimensions are: 34 inches long X 22 1/4 inches wide; frame - 38 inches long X 28 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Not examined out of frame; lighter spotting around the edges of the paper, some light abrasion to surface. Provenance: Southern CA. estate of a retired Airline Stewardess who was flying the Asian routes in the 1960's and 70's where these were purchased.
