版画百幅，末幅有“康熙甲子年仲春古吴赵登笔”署款，可知绘画之作者及时间。此本有康熙乙亥褚人获四雪草堂序，林翰原序、凡例、目录、插图一百幅，书口下均有“四雪草堂”字样。版画仍有晚明遗风，乃清初小说版画插图之精作。李致忠先生在《中国古代书籍史话》中谓“清初官私版画大力发展的同时，插图版画，在戏曲小说中也有了别具风格的发展。如康熙时刻的《隋唐演义》，插图就有百幅”。即谓此本。
