藏传佛教经书多书写于藏纸之上，其材质较为脆弱，因此，僧众为保护经书常在经书外边上下加木质护板，既可以对经书起到保护和装饰的作用，又可以十分方便的随身携带。此块护经板正面正中雕刻有四臂观音，左右两侧分别雕刻菩萨装的大日如来和佛装的释迦牟尼佛，其下方皆承方形台座，背后有拏具背光。众多佛尊和菩萨环绕于主尊周围，并以卷草纹饰填充。护板四方还雕刻有四大天王的形象，极为精妙。护板最外一圈，则以细长饱满的莲瓣进行装饰。整块护经板选材优良，包浆醇厚，人物造型和背景饰物带有明代卫藏地区尼藏风格造像的艺术特点，更兼整板保存完好，不论是收藏还是供奉都是极佳选择。
