玉簪为白玉蘑菇头式，白玉质地，簪体为圆锥形，簪首微微弯曲，呈如意形，簪身刻有一条螭龙，犹如环绕于圆柱上，螭龙身形瘦长，龙纹线条连绵自如，往簪首方向盘旋而上，似乎要与簪首上的小螭相会，可视为苍龙教子题材，造型与明墓中出土玉簪一致。长度较短，应为明代男子用簪。簪头下方落款“子冈”。篆文稳健。应接近陆子刚的手制作品。存世玉雕艺术品中，子冈款玉牌常见，而发簪相对少见。陆子刚是明代嘉万间苏州玉工，当时即负盛名，善雕各种器物，纹饰、器型往往对古风加以改造，喜雕浅地子阳文图案和文字，风格秀雅精致，对明后期苏作玉雕影响至深。
