戗金漆器，即先在漆器表面刻画出纤细的纹样，再于纹样上漆金胶，最后填以泥金或金箔，形成红地金纹的装饰效果，因具有浓郁的宫廷气息，故而颇得统治者所喜。本件盖盒体量较小，木胎，圆口嵌盖，呈葵瓣花形，圈足内凹。通体填彩漆戗金为饰。外壁朱红漆为地，盒盖、器身、折沿均以缠枝纹饰之，其间并饰以蝙蝠衔宝相花绘纹。盒内及底髤黑漆，黑漆光泽明亮，保存极好。
