玉龙缸雕工细致，取整块碧玉为材精琢而成，玉色深沉，作墨绿色。缸弧肩，鼓腹下收。缸壁颇为厚实。表面满饰云龙纹，密刻云气纹为地，上雕祥龙，龙身瘦长遒劲，神态各异，口沿边呈中心对称装饰三条苍龙，似攀爬欲饮水状，形式生动。缸外壁祥云间，苍龙上下翻飞，穿梭其间，极具气势，身姿矫健，凸额怒目，龙须飘扬，鬃发浓密。整器达到了装饰性与艺术性的完美结合，浮雕技法运用娴熟，堪称乾隆琢玉工艺的佳作。
