A late Georgian rosewood boxrectangular, the hinged lid and front strung with brass, central brass vacant cartouche and escutcheon, raised on compressed feet, interior pink paper lined together with a Regency bronze inkwell in the form of three lions bearing a globe on their backs, on socle base (2)former - width 24 cm., later - diameter at base 11.1 cm. Condition: Former - overall in fair condition, rear right corner slightly bumped, previously with lift out tray, later - previously gilt, hinged damaged, so cover is detached from base
