Late 18th century or very early 19th century carved Federal mirror from Italy. Solid thick wood backing. The mirror itself replaced over time can be hung vertically or horizontally making a handsome statement either way. Mirror itself measures 27 1/2 inches X 15 1/2 inches.Decorative 1 inch carved band surrounds the mirror. The thick carving intermittent with gilt has a brown/gray hue with cream accents which takes on a pewter look mixed with gilt.Excellent condition.
