J. Hinton (British, possibly late 18th-19th century), "Connubial Happiness," hand-colored glass print, 1808, depicting a family inside their drawing room, the wife playing a harpsichord, the husband sitting in a window looking at his wife as she looks at him. Behind him is a river filled with boats and a bridge. In the far left corner a young girl stands with a barometer on the wall behind her. Dimensions are: sight size 12 3/4 inches wide X 9 3.4 inches tall; frame measures 18 1/4 inches wide X 15 1/4 inches tall. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Two long horizontal creases from application of mezzotint to glass on creation of glass print; also three areas where the varnish did not adhere and left air pockets, back of each chair and the fruit on the plate before the male figure.
