A Chinese, archaic style, bronze wine cup in the form of a standing owl with taotie mask, the domed cover with square form finial. Notched flanges divide these into four equal sections where serpentine beasts are seen in mirror image of one another. Leiwen lines are present throughout. H: 8 1/4" (21cm) Provenance: A similar example of this model is seen in the Metropolitan Museum of Art from the Charlotte C. & John C. Weber CollectionCondition: In very good condition, with a green patina present throughout.
