A Regency pollard oak library cabinet, circa 1815, in the manner of George Bullock, the solid superstructure with pierced brass gallery and scrolling anthemion cast supports, above the rectangular black marble top and panel cupboard door opening to a shelved interior, flanked by tapering pilasters headed by flowerhead roundels, with a small cupboard door to one side, on a plinth base, 116cm high, 86cm wide, 53cm deep Provenance: A country estate, Dumfriesshire A related cabinet by George Bullock executed in ‘figured’ oak and incorporating related patera roundels is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (accession number: 2014.67).
