以生产精细白瓷著称的定窑，为宋五大名窑之一，素来享誉盛名。其中，刻划花白瓷为主要产品，并以其优良质量广受后人喜爱。本品敞口，深弧腹。通体施白釉，圈足露胎。碗内饰缠枝牡丹纹，用竹或铁质工具勾勒花、叶的外部轮廓，内部饰以篦划纹，线条纤细流畅，花叶肥硕，画面丰富繁缛。外壁亦是花卉纹，形态更为潇洒写意。
