Late Period, 664-332 BC. A carved black limestone statuette of Isis seated on a high-backed throne, wearing tripartite wig and crown, right hand cupping the left breast and offering it to an infant Horus sitting on her lap, missing; bracelets to the upper arms, uraeus to the brow, tight-fitting skirt to the legs; right arms with socket to accept a pegged hand. 919 grams, 18.5cm (7 1/4"). Property of a central London gallery; previously with ACR Auctions, Munich, Germany 30 October 2014, lot 178; formerly in a private collection Zurich, Switzerland 2003; Ex Galerie Cybelle, Paris, France; accompanied by an original French certificate of exportation, number 058212. A similar figure (with more elaborate crown and some gilding) is in the collection of the British Museum, London, under accession number 1971,0123.2.
