1st-2nd century AD. A bronze figure of Asclepius on a socle base; the bearded god clutching his robe to his left hip, holding his crooked snake-entwined staff with his right hand. 288 grams total, 12cm (4 3/4"). Property of a Dutch gentleman; formerly in an old collection formed in the 1970s.
