17th century AD. A gold finger ring comprising a D-section hoop, segmented bezel of three plaques each a square with notched rim and inset table-cut diamond. Cf. Chadour, A.B. Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 703 for type. 5.45 grams, 23mm overall, 19.75mm internal diameter (approximate size British T 1/2, USA 9 3/4, Europe 22.0, Japan 21) (1"). Property of a Suffolk collector; formerly acquired on the European art market in the 1990s. Accompanied by scholarly note TL 005248 from Dr Ron Bonewitz.
