1st century BC-1st century AD. A facetted flat-section gold ring with ellipsoid cell to the bezel, inset chalcedony cabochon with intaglio facing female (priestess?) standing with arms raised. Cf. Chadour, A.B. Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 163 for type. 3.46 grams, 16.91mm overall, 15.67mm internal diameter (approximate size British I, USA 4 1/4, Europe 7.44, Japan 7) (3/4"). Ex an important Dutch collection; acquired on the European art market in the 1970s.
