Jurassic Period, 200-145 million years BP. A fossil dragonfly Isophlebia aspasia in a matrix. 435 grams, 22.5cm (8 3/4"). From an old Lincolnshire collection acquired during 1980s; from the Upper Jurassic, Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. The Solnhofen limestones is a famous Lagerstätte in Germany, that offers amazing preservation of Upper Jurassic fossils. It is where one of the most famous fossils of all time, Archaeopteryx was found.
